Accessible Housing & Dining

University of California, Davis, ("UC Davis" or the "University") provides reasonable housing accommodations to residents with disabilities. It is a resident's responsibility to make their disability known to the University. Housing accommodations are given consideration upon request and on a case-by-case basis; reasonable accommodations are determined based on documented need.

Submission of a request does not guarantee an accommodation; however, Student Housing and Dining Services attempts to honor all reasonable requests for disability-related assistance. Requests will be reviewed by Student Housing and Dining Services staff, in consultation with other campus professionals as needed, based on their expertise. Accommodation decisions will consider the resident's disability-related need(s) in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Fair Housing Act, and other relevant federal, state, and campus regulations. Accommodation Requests must be received at least 30 Days Prior to Arrival.

And our summer guests may be interested in the Rec Pool, which boasts the largest free-form swimming pool on the west coast, with lap lanes. Guest Safety & Conduct

Guests staying in the halls are expected to abide by all University and Residence Hall Regulations. Refer to the University and Residence Hall Regulations page for more information.

Visitation

Non-registered (non-paying) visitors are not allowed overnight in the residence halls due to other guest/resident privacy and safety reasons, with exception of approved medical aid, pre-approved group representative, or authorized individual to assist with guest move in/out. Hosts are responsible for the actions of their visitors and expected to remain with them at all times. Visitors cannot be in a building or room unaccompanied by registered guest. Conference participants are not permitted to enter the residence hall(s) of any group other than their own. Guests may not allow others to use their key/card to gain unauthorized access to buildings or rooms.

Fire Safety

Residence halls are protected by an excellent fire detection and response system. Each room is equipped with fire detection equipment which, when triggered, initiates full and immediate response from UC Davis Fire Department, which also supports a HazMat unit and EMS technicians. Because of the sensitivity of this equipment, electric cooking appliances are prohibited in all halls. Guests found to have tampered with fire safety equipment will be charged $300.

Upon checking into your room, please familiarize yourself with available exits and placement of fire alarm pull boxes. If you discover a fire, pull the alarm and immediately leave the building through the nearest exit; do not use elevators in the event of an emergency.
